Israeli warplanes have carried out heavy airstrikes on Gaza overnight and into the morning, with huge explosions seen in the territory, while also announcing that its ground forces were “expanding operations”.
Meanwhile, internet and electricity has gone down in Gaza, with about 2.3 million people living there being cut off from the outside world.
